EDMONTON

at MacEwan University

Since 2016, the Edmonton campus of the Sarah McLachlan School of Music has been a place where children and youth can discover their passion for music in a supportive and inclusive environment. In early 2023, a significant partnership with MacEwan University provided SoM Edmonton with a dedicated home inside the university’s Department of Music building. This collaboration offers a safe, welcoming space for over 200 young artists to learn, create, and connect. With expanded infrastructure, SoM Edmonton now delivers over 11,000 hours of programming annually, enriching the lives of more than 170 students throughout the region.

EDMONTON

All students, at all campuses, begin with our foundational Musical Discovery program.

Pick your favourite instrument and learn through discovery! Choose a focus instrument like guitar, piano, percussion, marimba, ukulele or band and songwriting and play with people who share your passion. Guided by SoM’s musical mentors, build friendships and musical skills through these student-centered group classes. Build foundational skills and musical knowledge here, in order to join other classes or play your own music independently.
