Planned Giving

Planned Gifts, such as bequests or charitable trusts, can be a meaningful way to make a profound difference in the lives of our students. A planned gift can help you achieve your philanthropic goals, as well as your tax and financial goals. Your gift can provide direct funding or it can establish an endowment for the school. You may also make your gift in honour or in memory of a loved one.

Gifts can be made now or can be deferred to maximize your tax and financial benefits. You can leave a gift in several ways – consider leaving a bequest in your will, a gift of life insurance, annuities or publicly traded securities, or designate SoM as your RRSP, RRIF or TFSA beneficiary. Your gift enables you to leave a lasting legacy of your own.

We encourage you to seek the advice of your own financial and legal counsel. The Sarah McLachlan School of Music is available to work with you and your professional advisor to ensure that your wishes are fulfilled and that your gift is used as you have specified.
