Over the last few years, the Sarah McLachlan School of Music has developed a partnership with Some Assembly Arts Society, a local theatre company that advances education and the public’s appreciation of the arts, by producing theatre art works with artistic excellence that build community, awareness, wellness and encourage dialogue among community members about diverse issues.
SOME Assembly has teamed with the Roundhouse Youth Theatre Action Group (RHYTAG), a youth theatre program for creators and performers ages 13-18 and are currently producing a new production that will be performed in the Performance Centre at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre from May 4-7, 2016.
We have several ties to this current production: Sophie E.L., a SoM alumni has written an original musical score for the production. Our very own vocal instructor, Marlie Collins is preparing a couple of the cast members to record vocals of the songs that Sophie wrote, in the studio with our partners at Nimbus School of Recording & Media. Another SoM alumni, James M., who is now a student at Nimbus, is mixing the tracks recorded for the production,
